Neighbours, families, friends, even strangers sometimes – we need each other, we know that for sure.  However, our experience of community is changing.  In today’s transient, busy and increasingly “wired” world, a growing number of us – particularly young adults and the elderly – report being very lonely.  Having relationships with others is essential to our individual and collective well-being.  These connections have been shown to: positively impact health and healing; offer greater resilience to individuals and communities during difficult times; and, increase engagement and participation in efforts to make our communities better.

In this podcast, Paul Born shares highlights from his just-released book Deepening Community: Finding Joy Together in Chaotic Times and profiles programs – from a faith community, a collective impact approach, and a community conversation approach – that have proven very effective at building strong communities.
