Going home

... how does it feel?

I had an interesting conversation the other day.  My significant other said that she felt a little jump in her chest when we passed the highway exit that led to her childhood home.  Now, I havn't felt that way about arriving at a place in a LONG time, but I remember a certain hill on the drive home that made me feel like I was almost there.

Does that feeling mean she had developed an attachment to a geographic location? I think it does.  After talking about it for a bit, she said she feels the same way when she knows she's about to arrive at the house of a friend (or family).

It occured to me that the feeling of community and belonging can come on suddenly, and - for a lot of people - is a noticeable and obvious feeling.

Feels good!
